MasterCard® SmartData is an easy-to-use, web-based expense management tool that is no cost to you with a SunTrust Business Check Card. It’s designed to securely transform expense data into business intelligence by providing complete, consolidated and customizable reports.

This web application was developed by MasterCard to help your business better manage expenses, control budgets, track employee spending, identify trends and analyze spending patterns quarterly, annually or on demand. The application captures point-of-sale data from all signature-based purchases made with the SunTrust Business Check Cards on your account. That data is used to provide invoice-quality line-item details, which can be used for comprehensive reports and simplified expense data management.

SmartData can be set up to send you customized reports that give you the big picture of your company’s spending. That makes expense management easy, and helps show where you’re sticking to your budget and where you need to watch spending. You’ll know where you should cut, and where you can spend more.

What does SmartData give you?

  • Useful details: You’ll see transaction dates, merchants, locations, client names and project codes.
  • Helpful alerts: You can have e-mails sent to you when spending reaches specific amounts.
