Building a Foundation

For Helen and John, a couple in their early 30s, the future looks bright. John is a physician in a growing neurology practice. Helen is an English professor at the local university. Their two children, ages two and five, are happy and healthy.

But the family’s expenses are high and include a large mortgage, college and medical school loans, child care and private school tuition.
