Mark Jones: The one thing I hear time and time again, especially from our clients, is that they're busy. They're busy running their businesses. And this 401(k) plan is a complicated thing.

Ray Wilson: I pride myself on a daily basis on just making sure that every client that hangs up the phone can honestly say, “he took care of what I needed.”
Sabrina Lane: Some of my clients have been with me for more than 15 years. Those are the types of relationships we're trying to build at SunTrust.
Mark Jones: We created a framework called the five principles. There are five essential elements. If you have plan design that encourages participation and is easy to administer, if you know that you're meeting your fiduciary responsibilities, if you know that your costs are reasonable and in line, if you have good investments and you give your employees the tools they need, then you've done a pretty good job on your plan.
Sabrina Lane: My philosophy on client service is to bring solutions to my clients before they even realize that there is a problem or an issue that needs a solution.
Scott Rice: Success to my team is measured in how we communicate and how we educate our plan sponsors.
Phillip Pounds: We have the ability to bring a lot of products and services so that we can take the work off of your HR staff, the work off of your finance staff, and let our staff do it for you.
Kirki Fuller: We're not looking at one thing. We're not concentrated just on plan administration or plan education. We're looking at the full picture, and when we look at that full picture, it really does allow us to customize what we give to our plan sponsors.

Scott Rice: In the early 1990s we partnered with Empower Institutional, formerly known as Fast Core. Since then, Fast Core has grown into the second-largest record-keeper in the United States. By having a best-in-class platform, the clients know that, one, their administrative duties are being taken care of and handled appropriately as well as their participants.
Mark Jones: It allows us to bring a higher level of personal service to companies that would not be considered large at other organizations.
Kirki Fuller: We are a holistic plan provider.
Brad Calhoun: One of the biggest challenges I see with plan sponsors is their fiduciary concerns that they have. With SunTrust, we have no proprietary funds whatsoever.
Mark Jones: One thing that makes us very unique is our commitment to fiduciary oversight. Risk and policy and procedure—it's just in the DNA of the bank.

Phillip Pounds: The ability for us to design product or services or hire people that are really intent on handholding and taking care of clients, you don't get that a lot of times with this size of business.
Mark Jones: We're going to be doing things for you that you have been doing for yourself. We're going to become the advisor that you can't live without because we're going to handle everything for you.
