Top Ten Client Questions
We want you to feel good about banking with us. If you have any questions about SunTrust or the changes associated with the merger, please read our Top Ten Client Questions below.
  1. Will my account number remain the same?
    Your checking, savings, money market or credit card account number will not be affected. You’ll be assigned a new loan account number, which will appear on your future payment coupons or billing statements.

  2. Can I continue to use the checks I have now?
    Yes. You can continue to use your existing checks for your checking and/or money market accounts until it’s time to reorder. If you have a consumer line of credit or home equity line of credit, you will be receiving new access checks for your SunTrust account after the merger is complete.

  3. Can I continue to use my PIN (Personal Identification Number)?
    Yes. You can continue to use the same Personal Identification Number (PIN) with your new SunTrust ATM Card or SunTrust Check Card.

  4. Will my auto deposit still work?
    Yes. Any automatic deposits in place at the time of conversion will continue without interruption.

  5. Will my automatic payments still work?
    Yes. Any third party automatic payments using the checking account number in place at the time of conversion will continue without interruption.

  6. What about my Online Banking and Bill Pay? Will these continue?
    Yes. Your established Online Banking and Bill Pay will convert automatically. However, please keep in mind that loan numbers and addresses for loan payments will change. Please notify any third-party vendors, including bill payment services, of your new loan account number and payment address.

    Your payee information will automatically convert to SunTrust. You will not be required to re-enter your payee information (payee name, address, phone number, etc.) as long as the address information meets postal standards. Payment history will not be converted. If you wish to maintain this information, you may want to print out your payment history before April 22nd.

  7. Do I have to get a new credit card?
    No. If you have a bank credit card with charging privileges, you will automatically receive a new card. There will be no change to your credit card account number, Personal Identification Number (PIN), credit limit, terms, conditions, or benefits.

  8. Who/where can I call for help with my banking questions?
    As a SunTrust client, you can access your accounts 24/7 online at, or by using SunTrust Automated Telephone Banking at 800.SUNTRUST (800.786.8787). Both automated and operator-assisted services are available for you at your convenience.

  9. How do I access Online Banking and who can I call for help with my Online Banking questions?
    As a SunTrust client, you can access your accounts 24/7 online at For assistance with Online Banking, please call a SunTrust representative at 800.382.3232.

  10. Which ATM can I use?
    There will be no charge for your transactions at SunTrust ATMs. Once the conversion is complete, you will have over 1,700 branches and 2,700 ATMs in 11 states to choose from. Find the location closest to you.
