Over the past 21 years at SunTrust Bank, Gregory (Greg) Binney has developed a diverse background within various lines of business to include credit management, sales management, wealth management, corporate and investment banking and commercial banking. For the past eight years, he has focused on delivering comprehensive financial solutions to high income/high net worth physicians and their medical practices. As a Certified Financial PlannerTM (CFP®), this includes financial planning, investment management, tax planning* and estate strategies, risk management and retirement planning. Corporately, Greg collaborates with senior physician leadership and practice management to deliver the required capital and capital markets solutions to support the medical practice's strategic growth plans. This partnership also includes the utilization of available cash management, claims management and payable solutions to improve efficiencies to maximize cash flow. Another key focus is the delivery of employee benefit solutions such as defined contribution and defined benefit plans, disability insurance, life insurance and long-term care insurance.

Greg is actively involved with the Georgia MGMA and the Atlanta MGMA chapters and the Georgia OB/GYN Society. He also supports the MDA/ALS Night of Hope Gala, the Foundation for Mitochondrial Medicine Hope Flies Catch the Cure Event, the Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities and the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta.

Greg has lived in Atlanta for 28 years, graduating from the Lovett School where he has served as an alumni representative. He earned a BA in Economics at Rollins College and studied at the London School of Economics for a semester abroad. Greg is an active member at Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church, serving as a Vestry member, the Junior Warden and a Sunday school teacher. As a former baseball player, he dedicates much of his spare time coaching at Northside Youth Organization, a passion that has produced 4 league championship teams. He is a member of Cherokee Town & Country Club where he enjoys golf, tennis and swimming with his wife and three active boys, ages 12, 10 and 7. His wife, Dr. Gretchen Koontz, is a Perinatologist with Maternal-Fetal Specialists based at Northside Hospital with additional offices in Gwinnett and Alpharetta. His family resides in Buckhead.
