Quanda Allen is Group Vice President and Director of Practice Development within the Foundations and Endowments Specialty Practice. As Director of Practice Development, Quanda serves as the marketing and business strategist for the line of business. She is the founder of our thought leadership program and leads the editorial process. She is a frequent contributor to white papers, podcasts and presentations on a wide variety of topics including nonprofit governance, fundraising, endowment spending policy and investment committee dynamics. Quanda also serves as corporate trustee overseeing $700,000 in grantmaking annually for 3 private foundations. She offers clients more than 20 years of nonprofit and 10 years of client management experience. Quanda has earned the professional designation of Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) and is a graduate of Howard University (B.B.A.) and Georgia State University (M.U.P.S).
Quanda joined SunTrust in December of 2012 after 5 years with U. S. Trust/Bank of America Corporation, most recently having served as Senior Vice President and Senior Philanthropic Relationship Manager in Atlanta, GA and Washington, DC. Prior to her financial services experience, Quanda led the development, community engagement and marketing functions at several large Atlanta-based nonprofit organizations. She also worked as an associate consultant at Bain and Company.
Quanda volunteers her time with several organizations. She is a board member of Transformer D.C., the Boy Scouts of the National Capital Area and Sitar Arts Center. She formerly chaired the African-American Teammate Network for the SunTrust Greater Washington Diversity Council and holds membership in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the Junior League of Greater Washington. In 2009, Quanda was recognized by Outstanding Atlanta for her exemplary civic engagement and professional accomplishments. In 2015 and 2016, she was recognized with a SunTrust Presidential Milestone Volunteer Award.
