First-time Direct Deposit users:
Gather your SunTrust routing and account numbers from a check corresponding to the account where you want items directly deposited.
Tip: Your 9-digit routing number is the first set of numbers on the bottom of your check. Your account number is the second set of numbers, and may be up to 13 digits long.
Next, print and complete one of these forms:
Give the form and a blank check for your corresponding account to the applicable party.
Direct Deposit users at other banks:
With our online SwitchAgent® service, transferring existing Direct Deposit and other automatic payments (insurance, mortgage, etc.) to your new SunTrust account is easy.
To begin, have one of the following handy:
- Your SunTrust Online Banking ID and password
- Your SunTrust debit card and PIN number
- Your account number and Social Security number
Then, all you need to do is gather any statements or paystubs related to your existing pre-authorized incomes and withdrawals (i.e., insurance, mortgage payments or automatic deposits), and we’ll take care of the rest.
