After opening your SunTrust mortgage, contact your dedicated Relationship Specialist to open a Select Checking account with SunTrust Bank. To jumpstart your savings, be sure to select the paperless option with SurePay. When you choose Select Checking and go paperless with SurePay you open the door to additional benefits.

    • SunTrust Mortgage with SurePay will automatically debit your monthly mortgage payment from your Select Checking account on your due date, drafted between the 1st and 15th day of each month.

  • No monthly checking account maintenance fees

    • SunTrust Bank will defer the monthly maintenance fee on your Select Checking account; saving you money month after month.

      • Ask your Relationship Specialist about the Bi-Weekly® Mortgage Payment Plan. By making extra payments under this plan, you could pay off your mortgage sooner.
      • Pay half of your monthly mortgage payment every two weeks (set up automatic debit)2.
      • Go from 12 full mortgage payments to 26 half payments in most years, which means you make the equivalent of one full extra mortgage payment per year.
      • Your two extra half payments go straight to principal.
      • Build equity in your home faster and pay off your home sooner.3

      * Bi-Weekly payments are collected in the month prior to when they are applied to your monthly payment due. To avoid a gap in your payment history as you transition to the payment structure of The Bi-Weekly® Mortgage Payment Plan, during your first month of enrollment, you will pay both your regular monthly payment plus Bi- Weekly half payments. If this additional payment at enrollment is not possible, SunTrust Mortgage offers our SurePay automated payment program that may allow you to accomplish a similar goal.
