Debbie Riney Smith is a Senior Vice President and Private Financial Advisor in the Atlanta office of SunTrust Private Wealth Management. She has over 20 years of industry experience, with an expertise in investment analysis and portfolio management. Debbie formerly held management positions at Legg Mason, J.C. Bradford and Wachovia Securities, focused on product due diligence. Debbie helped to build and managed the mutual fund department at SunTrust Investment Services for six years.

In 2007, Debbie decided to make a career shift, moving from product management to consultative sales. She joined Charles Wellborn, in his investment advisory and financial planning practice. They formulated the Wellborn Group and manage $550 million in client assets.

Debbie is from Dayton, Ohio and has lived in Atlanta since 2001. She graduated from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland, a women's college in Baltimore, MD with a degree in mathematics. Debbie is married and enjoys spending time with her family and yellow lab, Kooper. Debbie is a member of the Women's Board of Directors network and is involved with Moving in the Spirit, an organization focused on positive youth development.
